Rudolph Cake Pop Tutorial

Ingredients

  • Baked cake of your choice. Packet mix is perfectly acceptable. I've used homemade mud cake as it doesn't require any icing to bind it together.
  • Chocolate melts or chopped chocolate (milk or dark)
  • Copha if required
  • Red smarties or m&ms
  • Icing eyes or round lollies

Equipment

  • Deep microwavable bowl
  • Spoon
  • Lollipop sticks

Packaging

  • Cellophane bags
  • Brown pipe cleaners

Step 1
Crumble your cold baked cake into fine crumbs.

Step 2
Squeeze your cake crumbs to form balls approximately 3-3.5cms in diameter. If your mixture is not moist enough to form smooth balls add a spoonful of icing.
The more icing you add the more 'fudgy' your cake pops will be.

Step 3
Place your chocolate in a bowl and microwave in short bursts until melted. If it appears too thick add a little copha.

Step 4
Dip one end of your lollipop sticks in the melted chocolate and push into the cake balls. Place in the refrigerator for 30 minutes

Step 5
Make sure your chocolate is still liquid and smooth and dip each cake pop to seal completely. Leave aside to set.

Step 6
Use melted chocolate to attach noses and eyes. Let set.

Final step
Package each cake pop in a cellophane bag and tie with pipe cleaners to form antlers
